Wedding day is the happiest day in one’s life, the day you finally get to be with the love of your life. The Priest in charge while formally joining the bride and groom, asked that anyone who has something against the couple to be should indicate or remain silent forever..
Unlike other weddings I have been to, he waited roughly for 10 minutes. As if he’s waiting for someone to walk up but no one did., After the long wait, he continued; I hereby formally join you together as lawfully wedded man and woman.
Family, friends and well wishers cheered and applauded. Exchange of marital vows and rings were done. Photos taken and boom.. the reception.
People were on a cue to serve themselves.. 🙂 The lucky ones got served, others weren’t that lucky as a fierce fight ensured. It was the man on suit and a woman who appeared to be prepared.
The fight was so serious that it took about 7 minutes before the duo were separated. The man’s suit was torn.. He was still holding very tight his opponent’s wig after they were separated. The woman on the other hand, was bleeding on her mouth.
The incident further degenerated into a free for all fight.. the situation however was put under control. Investigations revealed the woman involved in the brutal fight was the groom’s ex wife.
According to an eye witness, the ex wife walked into the church premise, took pictures of the bride and groom on a large banner displayed on a section of the church building. Came inside the church and started snapping the groom right in his face.
The groom angrily moved to seize the phone but met stiff resistance from the ex wife and her mother…that’s how it all began.
Meanwhile, the groom’s bride had run to somewhere safe immediately the trouble began.
Men of the Nigerian police force were seen in the premise. The groom had put a call cross to D.P.O in charge of Uwani Police station Enugu to send some men to get his ex-wife arrested.
Police however instructed the man to be calm and take care of his wife. That since he knows the woman who attacked him and where she stays, they can pick her up on Monday. but he need to come with them to make a statement at the station.
